Mozambique Hunting Safaris
DURATION OF SAFARI
The hunting season in Mozambique starts in June and ends in
November because of the tropical rainy season. A
minimum of 7 hunting days are required for Buffalo
where14 hunting days are required for Lion, Leopard, Nyala, Waterbuck, Eland and Sable.
An Elephant Safari
requires 21 hunting days. See the price list below
for minimum days required for the different species.
ACCOMMODATION AND HUNTING AREA
The camp is comfortable and safe and caters for your
every need, laundry is done daily. The accommodation
consist of log cabins, all with comfortable beds,
flush toilets and hot & cold shower facilities.
The
area is to the West of the Zambezi River, bordering
the Maroumeio Buffalo Reserve, running all the way
to the Indian Ocean, of which one third is swamp
area and the rest forest. The total size of the area
is about 494 200 Acres (1200 square miles). The area
was proclaimed ± 35 – 40 years ago during the
Portuguese regime.
During the war no hunting took
place till about 10 years ago, when my associate
applied for Coutada 10. Based on all the old-time
hunters before the war, “Safari Landia” operated
here, with professional hunters such as Wally
Johnson and Harry Manners, with regular clients like
Robert Ruark.
HUNTING LICENSES AND EXPORT OF TROPHIES
A basic fee of US$600 is charged per hunter for
Mozambique government paperwork and covers CITES-
and Export permits, Customs, Veterinary Inspection
and Wildlife Inspection. Trophies are field prepared
and transported to a taxidermist in South
Africa.
Note that dipping, packing, shipping,
taxidermy and insurance are for your own account. We
will help with arrangements on your behalf. Some
species require CITES permits and we will advise you
on this before booking.
TRAVEL INFORMATION AND FIREARMS
Mozambique is a high risk malaria and Tsetse fly
risk. Please consult your doctor before departure.
You will fly into Johannesburg International Airport
in South Africa, from where you will typically stay
over at an hotel for your own account. From there we
will pick you up and charter to Beira in Mozambique,
the next morning.
At Beira, you will clear customs
and proceed to the landing strip at the camp. Your
caliber requirements will be discussed with you
prior to your booking, considering the trophies
required. The necessary documentation for temporary
import of firearms into Mozambique will be discussed
at a later stage.

TERMS OF BUSINESS

A deposit of 50% on total daily rate is required
to confirm booking.

No refund of deposit can be made if client cancels
safari within 6 months of contracted safari date,
unless safari can be rebooked. In all other
instances the deposit will be refunded less 10%
administration fee.

The balance of the daily rates and all additional
expenses are payable at least 30 days prior to the
start of the safari. Trophy fees are due at the end
of the safari.

All charges are subject to change.

Way of payment will be arranged on booking of
safari.

Trophy charges are applicable only on animals
actually bagged or wounded and lost.

The information on this page is only applicable on

We do not take any responsibility for luggage that
are lost on your flights. The contracted safari
period stays as stipulated and any charges
concerning this matter are for your own account.

No refund of daily rates will be made if full
trophy bag is obtained before completion of the
contracted safari period.
