AREA & CAMPS

Dande North concession comprises of Ward 1 and Ward 2 of the Dande. These two wards are the prime hunting wards in the Dande and our two camps are exclusive to our operation – namely Mukanga camp on the Mukanga River and Matombo camp which is on the Zambezi River.

MUKANGA CAMP (Luxury chalets)

These chalets are luxury, thatched chalets with bathroom-en –suite with all the modern amenities. The décor and furniture/fittings are all new. The camp sleeps 8 guests comfortably and has a separate dining/bar and campfire area. The camp has generated power. Water is clean and safe and pumped from our own deep borehole at the camp. For added safety the water passes through a purification system which is also connected to an ice machine bottling unit.

MATOMBO CAMP (Tented camp)

This is a tented camp on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River and situated at the Masau river mouth. Due to the flooding of the Zambezi over the last two years we have built this new tented camp overlooking the Zambezi River. The camp has generated power. Breath-taking views. This comprises of three tents with bathroom on suite along with a dining area and campfire area.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

A safari is not deemed to be booked until 50% of the daily rate has been paid for to the agent/operator. The balance of the daily rate is due 90 days prior to commencement of the said safari. A deposit for trophy fees should be left with the agent for the billing at the conclusion of the safari, which will be forwarded to the agent. Should the hunt be cancelled, refunds will be made if more than six months prior to the commencement of the safari. Government prices subject to change. Wounded animals are paid for.

Safari price includes:

Services of a licensed PH hunter with 4×4 vehicle and all camp staff
Accommodation, food and refreshments – local beer/spirits and regional wines
Daily laundry service

Safari price excludes:

Trophy fees on all animals wounded,killed or lost
Transfer to and from hunting areas
International air fares
Hotel bills before and after the safari
Gratuities
Field preparation and transport of trophies
Shipping of trophies to destination and taxidermy work
Government taxes and tourism levy
Medical air rescue
Firearm permits

Passports and Visas

Valid passports. Visas can be purchased at airport on arrival and are US 30 per person. Good idea to have correct amount in notes.

Firearms and Ammunition

Temporary firearms and Ammunition permits are issued on arrival by the Zimbabwe Customs section at the airport. Whilst gun selection is a personal choice, automatics are not catered for. Therefore we advise a 30 caliber bolt action scoped rifle which would be suitable for antelope and leopard. Premium grade bullets such as Barnes North Fork or Swift are suggested. For dangerous game the minimum caliber is 9.3 or larger. Premium grade bullets such as Barnes, Swift trophy bonded must be used. For thick skinned dangerous game such as Buffalo and Elephant solid bullets are recommended.
Scope and mounts are important and must be of good quality. 60 rounds per caliber is suggested divided up between premium, expanding, and solid bullets. Rifle choice for cats should have a premium scope with good light gathering an illuminated retical really helps in low light conditions. We do have firearms for hire if the need arises.
