Zimbabwe – Chewore North

Zambezi Valley

For well over a century, the Zambezi Valley has been considered a Mecca for big game hunters. Early hunters like Selous explored this area in their quest for adventure. The ‘Valley’ with the Zambezi River as its northern border and the escarpment as its southern, is made up of a wide variety of contrasting habitats: large flood plains, thick Jesse bush, Mopani forests and rolling hills. The ‘Valley’ is known for its classic big game including huge herds of elephant, and one of the highest concentrations of Cape buffalo in Africa. The remoteness of the Valley, combined with the abundance of prey species and limited quota’s makes this an excellent area to hunt the great cats; lion and leopard. The numerous islands and marshes that abound along the Zambezi, also provides the opportunity to hunt Africa’s two aquatic species; hippo and crocodile. Our Zambezi Valley concessions, Chewore North, encompass a huge area of the finest big game hunting found in today’s Africa.

Safari has been called the last great adventure.

No hunting destination on earth offers the combination of excitement, drama and danger, as does the Dark Continent. Her wild places and savage beauty hard to describe to one who have not been there, but Africa is the essence of adventure. Every safari will generate a broad range of emotions and memories that will become fond remembrances that will last a hunter’s lifetime. Indeed, these are the very moments that bring people back time and time again.

All hunting is done in a very traditional manner, using the very best professional hunters and trackers. Custom fitted 4 wheeled drive vehicles enable the hunters to explore the vast and remote areas of the Zimbabwe bush. Regardless of the trophy you are hunting, you will enjoy the real Africa. Encounters with elephant and buffalo are a common occurrence, and you will often hear the call of a distant lion or the cough of a hunting leopard as you enjoy sundowners around the nightly campfire.

Your adventure begins with your arrival in the capital city Harare, Zimbabwe. Upon arrival, you will be met at the Harare airport by a representative of the safari company, who will assist you through the simple customs process. Within 45 minutes of arrival, you will board your charter flight for the short one hour flight into our Zambezi Valley safari areas.

The outfitter operates a number of camps throughout our hunting areas. Our camps range from well-appointed East African style tents with en-suite bathrooms to luxury thatched chalets. A comfortable safari camp is an important aspect of your safari. You will find the accommodations at our camps among the finest in Africa. Regardless of camp location, you will experience the finest in African hospitality including hot showers and daily laundry service. The meals prepared by the chefs are among the finest to be found in any hunting camp, worldwide .You will enjoy large variety of wild game dishes as well as a more traditional cuisine ….perfectly prepared. If requested, the chefs can also cater to individual client’s tastes and dietary requirements. An exquisitely prepared meal accompanied by a fine bottle of wine is an unexpected pleasure of safari life.

Evenings around an African campfire will create some of the fondest memories of your African safaris. Cold cocktails around a warm Mopani wood fire while reminiscing about the days adventures is the perfect way to end the day.
